This Courage resource includes a print and digital format for Google Classroom (and other platforms) and is a month long unit taken from my Entire Year: Character Education Kit. I love using these materials because it allows you to directly teach important character traits in an active, motivating format. This unit focuses on the trait of Courage but there are 10 other units in the Character Education Kit, including Caring, Respect, Responsibility, Citizenship, Fairness, Giving, Gratitude, Perseverance, Self-Discipline, and Trustworthiness.
Here’s what’s included: (Print and Digital)
2 Character Traits Posters (One colorful and one BW)
2 Character Awards (One colorful and one BW)
Mentor Texts List (lots of books which teach Courage lessons)
Self-Reflection Quiz (Kids can privately assess how they are doing with this character trait)
Activity Pages (Comprehension Questions for When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom by Carole Boston Weatherford, as well as several art projects focusing on courage)
32 Discussion Task Cards (Lots of questions and scenarios you can use for great class discussions)

If you’d like to try a month for free, here’s a Character Education Caring Kit Freebie!
Also, while each character trait kit is a single license purchase, you might want to share this resource with your principal to see if he/she would like to get a school license (Simply purchase a license for each 2nd – 5th Grade teacher, K – 1 are free as a school purchase since many of the materials are too advanced for these ages). It really is so much more powerful if the whole school is teaching the same character traits and especially if they are teaching them at the same time. I have used these materials for many years with my classes and feel confident that you’ll enjoy using them too.
Thanks so much!
